
An aspirant for the Ogun State House of Assembly representing Abeokuta South Constituency II, Hon. Olalekan Olatunde Jiboku, popularly known as Jibson has Congratulated the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, on the occasion of the 2026 Lisabi Festival.
This was disclosed in a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday.
Jiboku also rejoiced with sons and daughters of Egbaland, celebrating the rich cultural heritage and historical significance of the Egba people.
Speaking on the importance of the festival, the Jiboku described Lisabi Festival as a symbol of courage, resilience, and unity, noting that it serves as a yearly reminder of the Egba people’s illustrious history.
“The Lisabi Festival reminds us of our roots, the bravery of our forebears, and the values that continue to unite us as a people,” Jiboku said.
He commended the Alake for his consistent leadership and commitment to the preservation of Egba traditions, adding that the monarch’s efforts have contributed significantly to fostering peace and cultural pride across Egbaland.
Jiboku emphasized that the festival is an opportunity for reflection and renewal, encouraging the younger generation to appreciate and uphold the legacy of the Egba nation.
“As we celebrate Lisabi, let us teach our youth the values of courage, unity, and responsibility that Lisabi stood for”.
He praised the Egba people for their resilience and achievements across education, commerce, governance, and cultural preservation, noting that their contributions continue to shape the progress of Ogun State.
The aspirant also prayed for long life, good health, and continued wisdom for the Alake, while wishing the entire Egba community a peaceful and successful festival celebration.
“Lisabi Festival is more than a celebration; it is a call for unity, progress, and cultural appreciation. I encourage all sons and daughters of Egbaland to participate actively and cherish our shared heritage” he said.
Hon. Olalekan Jiboku affirmed his commitment to serving the people of Abeokuta South Constituency II with integrity and dedication, promising to uphold the values of Egba tradition while contributing to the development and prosperity of his community.
