A Chieftain of the New Nigerian People Party (NNPP), Honourable Damilare Abioro, has asked Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State to establish a world class computer village in the state,
The Politician also called on Government at all levels to invest heavily into Information and Communication (ICT) sector in the country.
Abioro, who made the call while addressing newsmen on the sideline of this year’s symposium and get together party of Association of Computer Dealers and ICT Technicians of Nigeria at Omida Shopping Mall Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital, describes the sector as catalyst for development
The politician explained that Ogun State deserves a computer hub with state-of-the-art to boost the economy drive of the state government.
He added that the state’s education and economic sectors will benefit immensely from such capital projects.
“Ogun State is one of the well known states in Nigeria that has good education sector and industries that requires use of Technology, most especially Computers and other gadgets”. He said.
“if this request for computer village can be granted, it will help the economy sector of the state and Nigeria at large” he added.
“Ogun State needs computer village like Lagos State, the politician emphasized.
According to him, computer village will assist the state government in expanding its intervention programmes and as well intensify social support for the residents in the state and their means of livelihoods.
Abioro says the sector will address the level of unemployment, especially among the youths in the gateway state.
He also commended the Chairman Board of Trustees, Mr Babatunde Adene, the President of the Association Mr Onatade Tunde, the Executives and the member of the Association while to keep running the association in a way that will contribute to the economy of our beloved Country Nigeria.
