The Supervisor for Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation in Ogun Waterside Local Government, Abigi Hon. Adekoya Taiwo Michael Popularly known as Taribo West has distributed thousands of writing materials to Primary School Pupils across the Ten (10) Wards in Ogun Waterside Local Government.
Adekoya while distributing the materials said the gesture is borne out of his determination to always give back to the society where he has benefited from.
He further maintained that the he chose the education sector because the pupils are tomorrow leaders and there is need to support them.
According to the statement signed by the Olanrewaju Daud Martins,Head, Information, Education and Sports Department,Ogun Waterside Local Government, Abigi,”The Education they say is the best legacy one can give to the children in a bid to train them as leaders of tomorrow.” This assertion came from Hon. Adekoya Taiwo Michael {A.k.a Taribo West} the Supervisor for Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation in Ogun Waterside Local Government, Abigi when he distributed thousands of writing materials to all Primary School Pupils across the Ten (10) Wards.”
He stressed that, although it might not reach all the students but, he is of the opinion that, most of them benefited from the gifts.
Hon Adekoya to appreciated God Almighty that made the plan materialized and that he still has more programmes such as this in the pipeline that will be more beneficial to the people at the Grassroots.
Adekoyq hails from Agodo town in Lukogbe/Ilushin Ward. He is serving in the Executive Arm under the present Hon. Mudashir Adekunle AbdulLateef led Administration.
Responding after receiving some of the writing materials on behalf of the government from the donor, the Executive Secretary, Ogun Waterside Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) Mr. Nurudeen Onaniyi appreciated the effort of Hon. Adekoya Taiwo Michael for having it in mind to support the parents in the area of providing them with educational materials which they could have been bought if not provided for.
He then used the medium to reach out to more philanthropists who can come to the aid of these students most importantly during this harsh economic situation of our Nation stating that, government alone cannot do it all.
In his own words, Hon. Ogunji Olugbenga, Supervisor for Information, Education and Sports in the Council as well thanked his colleague for his efforts and show of love towards these children and prayed for God to replenish his pulse. Saying, he’s sure that these pupils too will never forget this occasion in a hurry as it will linger in their memories.
The event later climaxed with the official distribution of these writing materials which was witnessed by Head-Masters and Teachers in all the Schools visited, and the Information Crew amongst many others.
