As activities Marking the 39th Lisabi Day celebration continue, an Ẹgba socio-cultural group ẸGBA PEER GROUP has announced a series of activities aimed at showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of Egbaland.

The group revealed that this year’s edition of the annual festival will feature a unique blend of cultural displays designed to add colour and glamour to the celebration, which remains one of the most significant cultural events in Ogun State.

According to the organisers, activities which have commenced will on Friday featured a grand horse-riding procession, a symbolic prelude to the main event which will take place on Saturday, 28th March at Ake palace Pavilion.

The procession is expected to attract dignitaries, cultural enthusiasts, and indigenes from across the country and beyond.

They noted that the programme is carefully curated to reflect the customs, values, and historical identity of the Ẹgba people, with emphasis on preserving and promoting indigenous culture for future generations.

The group further stated that participants and spectators will be treated to captivating displays of traditional attire, music, and other cultural performances that highlight the uniqueness of Egbaland.

Lisabi Day is celebrated annually in honour of Lisabi Agbongbo Akala, the legendary warrior and hero who led the Ẹgba people to victory and liberation in the 18th century. Over the years, the event has evolved into a major cultural festival that fosters unity, pride, and socio-cultural development among the people.
