To Celebrate the 2023 Eleyele/Kere Day, the Olu of Eleyele, Oba Mosuid Alani Ola Yusuf has Canvassed for good road network and industrialization in the town from the Ogun state government.
Oba Ola Yusuf made this Call While addressing the newsmen at the world press conference held at the proposed site for Eleyele Town on Thursday in Eleyele/Kere, Ogun state.
He narrated where the people of Eleyele came from and the exact year they settled, and highlighted all the intended social amenities he wish to bring to Eleyele/Kere Town.
He however appeal to all indigens of Eleyele/Kere especially the youths to Join hands together and should not allow outsiders to intrude in to their affairs, because if they allow them, they will just use them and dump them.
“The economy situation is very bad and most of our people are facing serious economy hardship but we are trying to support and help one another; that is why we set M Ola Yusuf Empowerment Programme. We are also working in conjunction with Ogun State government to help and make sure that economy and industrial developments are in this area. We are also in touch with the Federal government so that they can help us.
“We have problem about our roads because the roads are very bad. We are using this Medium to appeal to Ogun State and local government to help us in respect of this so that they can make these roads strong and permanent, because if the roads are good, it will help our farmers.
“The settlers of Eleyele came from Abeokuta, which involved, Egba Alake, Egba Owu, Egba Gbagura and Egba Oke-Ona in 1815 and Eleyele and Kere are thesame entity. The purpose of this Eleyele/Kere Day, we are determined to ensure Eleyele/Kere is develop in a modern way.
” By God’s grace on this 5/Half Acters of Land, we are going to bring Hall, Chalet, Police Post, renovation of our Health Centre and some other social amenities. For the purpose of Agriculture we are aiming at, we are going to make sure that there are important roads all over the places and our roads are properly done as we are working towards that from the government.
“Infant, i have a written proposal to the Ministry on how they can develop Agriculture settlement in Rice plantation, Fishery and other things. The industrialization is going on as we are trying to invite people to come and set up industries, and i want to appeal to you all the indigens of Eleyele/Kere to cooperate with investor and don’t fight them.
“We want to also make sure that there is proper security, that is why we are engaging the Amotekun and open an office for them.
“When i got to the throne, i discovered that most of our small children are not in the school for many reasons because the parents cannot afford it. I found it as a responsible and we gave 26 of them a scholarship and we will continue to do that.
“We also discovered that most of our Habitants here are lack capital to improve their business. We set up an empowerment programme to help them develope their business and not for social things because whatever they are given, they are going to return it with no interest which Called ‘Ola Yusuf Empowerment Programme’.
In his Goodwill message, Chief Yemi Arogundade also appeal to government and both indigens and non-indigens to come and establish industries in Eleyele Town to bring more development.
“It is been a long time since we have been that Eleyele/Kere is more develop than this. We want to appeal to government to site industry here. We want native people to come back home and we want other people to join us because a settlement that has no strangers cannot development much. Some of the backbone of this event are settlers, who have established industries.
“We want more people to come, we are prepare to give land, sell land, if people want to buy land there is land to buy and there is land to acquire to set up industries. We have made efforts to make the government come here to develop Fishery. They went round, they saw our rival, they saw different areas where they can dig fishpond.” He added.
Other activities for the event are Rally which will hold on Thursday 19th of October 2023; Islamic Lecture and Juma’at Service on Friday 20th of October; Eleyele/Kere Day on Saturday 21st of October and Thank giving and Church Service on Sunday 22nd of October.
