The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State Command, Commandant David Idowu Ojelabi, has reaffirmed his commitment to continuous protection of the civilian population ahead of the March 11 2023 Gubernatorial and State Houses of Assembly Elections in the State.
He stated this in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer,
for the State Command, Dyke Ogbonnaya.
Commandant Ojelabi said “the world’s populace relies on the Civil Defence across the globe for a responsive and committed security of lives and property. It is expected that we support, assist and give the needed peace, protection and welfare to the populace”, he submitted.
“I am enjoining all Civil Defence personnel to ensure they always stand in support and assistance of the people at all times. The world’s population depends on us for safety, security, information management, risk assessment and proactive response even in distress periods at the shortest possible of time”, he added.
He noted that during the last Presidential and National Assembly Elections in the State, the security agencies have been able to sustain the peace, tranquility and unity of the country through collaboration and synergy.
According to the State Commandant, this is sustainable with appropriate information and communication technologies (ICT) that drives activities in this information era.
He appreciated the Commandant General, AA Audi, PhD, mni, OFR, for his quick, professional, committed and astounding leadership qualities which have professionally driven the Corps up the ladder in the security architecture of the country.
He went further to advice every one to show a sense of love and humility during their engagements with the civilian population as this remains the true hallmark of a professional and committed civil defender across the world.
