The Nigerian Society of Engineers Abeokuta Branch has sought a strategic partnership with the Ogun State Property Investment Corporation (OPIC) to promote professional Engineering input, quality infrastructure delivery, and sustainable urban development in Ogun State.

This was made known during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the NSE Abeokuta Branch to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of OPIC, Arc Abiodun Fari-Arole, at the Corporation’s headquarters in Abeokuta. The delegation was led by the Chairman of the Branch, Engr Olumayowa Ayodeji Idowu, FNSE, alongside members of the Branch Executive Committee.

Speaking during the visit, Engr Idowu commended OPIC for its impactful role in the development of residential, commercial, and industrial real estate hubs, as well as the creation of new towns and cities across Ogun State and beyond. He noted that OPIC’s interventions have continued to stimulate economic growth, attract investment, and enhance urban planning within the state.

He further highlighted that OPIC was established by Edict No. 10 of 1984, Laws of Ogun State, and is empowered by its mandate to develop new towns and cities across Ogun State and beyond. According to him, OPIC’s pipeline of completed and ongoing developments across various locations is designed to meet international standards in infrastructure provision, planning, and sustainability.

The NSE Abeokuta Chairman emphasized the statutory role of the Nigerian Society of Engineers in ensuring engineering best practices, public safety, and professionalism. He stated that closer collaboration with OPIC would enhance technical oversight, project quality, capacity development, and value delivery in real estate and infrastructure projects.

In his response, Arc Abiodun Fari-Arole welcomed the NSE delegation and appreciated the visit. He reaffirmed OPIC’s commitment to delivering world-class developments and acknowledged the importance of engaging NSE in achieving quality and sustainable outcomes.

At the end of the fruitful meeting, both teams agreed to commence structured collaboration, starting with technical and professional engagement, as a foundation for a mutually beneficial partnership. The visit concluded on a cordial note, with both organisations expressing commitment to advancing infrastructural development, urban growth, and professional excellence in Ogun State.
