The NANS National Deputy Senate President, Comrade Elvis Ekundina, has commiserated with the students of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba, Akoko, Ondo State as well as the leadership of NAUS, NANS ONDO JCC and NANS ZONE D over the death of Temitayo Ayodeji, who recently graduated and was stabbed to death over 1,000 naira outstanding debt.

Comrade Ekundina described the occurrence as regrettable, heartbreaking, and terrible in a statement released on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Gift Oba.

It will be recalled that on Thursday, Temitayo Ayodeji, who recently graduated from the department of Physics Electronics, was stabbed with a pair of scissors.

According to a source from the University’s Students’ Union who corroborated the news of the ugly incident, the Victim was said to have intervened in a money payment dispute between an area brother and a third party, promising to clear the bill for the latter,

Temitayo Ayodeji was only able to reimburse the assailant a sum of N3,000 out of the payable N4,000 but was unable to pay the remaining N1,000 and that degenerated into argument which led to him being stabbed.

The Deputy Senate President, while expressing condolence to the family of the deceased, charged security agencies to take the necessary action in bringing the offender to justice in order to serve as deterent to others.

“The Leadership of NAUS, NANS ONDO JCC, NANS ZONE D, the entire students’ body of the institution, and the students in Ondo State generally have my condolences”.

“This is blatantly nasty and uncalled for. I also want to appeal to the security personnels to take immediate action to apprehend the offender and hold him accountable for his actions as that will serve as deterent to others”he concluded.
