Commends Abiodun’s leadership, hails Abudu Balogun’s role in power restoration
A Diaspora-based Nigerian and philanthropist, Ademola Andu, popularly known as The Bridge, has welcomed Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) to Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State ahead of the official flag-off of the long-awaited re-electrification project for the area.
The welcome message was contained in a statement issued by The Bridge Media Team, which described Senator Adeola’s visit as a historic milestone in the renewed efforts to restore stable electricity supply to Ogun Waterside and neighbouring communities after years of darkness.
According to the statement, Senator Adeola will officially flag off the re-electrification project on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at St. Thomas Anglican Church Primary School, Abigi, in what has been described as the beginning of a new era of socio-economic transformation for the people of Ogun Waterside.
The bridge media team noted that the project received a major boost through Senator Adeola’s donation of ₦1 billion towards the restoration of electricity, describing the intervention as a demonstration of purposeful leadership, uncommon generosity and commitment to improving the living conditions of the people.
It stated that the restoration of electricity would revitalize businesses, strengthen security, improve healthcare delivery, enhance educational activities and unlock fresh economic opportunities across Ogun Waterside and adjoining communities.
Ademola Andu expressed appreciation to Senator Adeola for fulfilling his promise to facilitate the return of electricity to the area, describing the initiative as one that would leave a lasting legacy in the lives of residents.
The diaspora-based Nigerian also applauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for his unwavering commitment to the development of Ogun State, saying the administration has continued to deliver impactful infrastructure and people-oriented programmes across various sectors under its development agenda.
He equally commended former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abiodun Abudu-Balogun, for what he described as his critical role in ensuring that the Ogun Waterside re-electrification project received the necessary attention that eventually culminated in its successful implementation.
Andu further noted that the collaborative efforts of Senator Adeola, Governor Abiodun and other committed stakeholders have rekindled hope among residents, many of whom had endured years without public electricity supply.
He urged the people of Ogun Waterside to turn out in large numbers to receive Senator Adeola and witness the official flag-off ceremony, expressing confidence that the project would mark the beginning of sustained development and improved quality of life for the people of the coastal local government.
