…..SAYS ADC WILL WIN OGUN GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION
The Ogun State gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Barrister Biyi Otegbeye has said that the traditional rulers endorsement to other governorship candidate means nothing to his candidacy.
Otegbeye disclosed this while featuring as guest at the media parley organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council held on Tuesday at Iwe-Iroyin Press Centre, Abeokuta.
Recall that some traditional rulers in the state had declared their support for the incumbent governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
The ADC gubernatorial candidate noted that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) doesn’t scan endorsement but recognized Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) .
He said ” Even as Senator Amosun given me endorsement, I don’t go to sleep , I’ll still do my work , go round and sell my agenda to people who ultimately will vote . The fact that those royal father’s say that in the open, they can take that narrative to make the governor happy .”
Meanwhile, the ADC governorship candidate debunked speculations that he was planning to go into alliance with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state ahead of the Saturday elections.
He declared that both ADC and PDP should carry their crosses, stressing that the political field was spacious enough for candidates of the parties to fight it out at the poll.
He commended the former Governor of the State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun for supporting and endorsing his governorship ambition saying that he’s not ready to step down for any candidate(s) ahead of the March 18, 2023 elections.
Otegbeye declared that he has gone beyond any thought of merger, stressing that at this point in time its almost impossible to form any meaningful merger and expect it to work.
He assured to provide meaningful information for the media, if elected into power.
