Feature story

The Executive Chairman Ogun Waterside Local Government, Hon. Mudashir Abdul-Lateef Adekunle has no doubt giving the people of his Council area lots of dividends of democracy in form of numerous projects across the length and breadth of the local government as an end of the year 2023 packages.

The projects ranges from the patching of Portholes, clearing of both sides of the road verges from J4 junction down to Iwopin which has now ease vehicular movement, and reduces road crashes, and insecurity among many other vices on that corridor during the Yuletide season and beyond.

Another landslide achievement recorded was the first projects he embarked on, on his assumption of office which were the renovation of the Administrative building, Executive Chairman’s office and the Legislative Chamber which are hitherto dilapidated with the provision of ultra modern furniture to enable the legislative carry out their legitimate duties under a more convenient and conducive atmosphere having noticed that the condition of service needed to be improved upon, the renovation of a block of three classrooms at the Community Primary School, Iwopin cannot be overlooked.

He also procured forty five (45) Hospital Beddings to ameliorate the suffering of the people, renovated the only Grader in a bid to make the grading of Rural roads across the Ten (10) Wards of the Council area during 2022 dry season so as to make movement of goods and service more easier, this kind gesture he had started again this year respectively.

Most of these projects came at the right time as people from other parts of the country will come home to witness first hand achievements of the local government by Hon. Mudashir led Administration.

In the new year, the St Mathias Primary School, Ilusin, the entire Local Government Secretariat and the Health Centre in Ita Ogun, along Ibiade will wear new look courtesy of the present regime led by Honourable Mudashir.

The Supervisor for Works and Housing in the local government, Hon. Ogunfuyi Omolara while fielding questions from the Journalists who visited the Council Secretariat said in about eight months ago, owing to the activities of desecrated elements who carted away High Tension Cables that brought electricity to the entire people of the local government, the Chairman magnanimously procured and installed one hundred and twenty (120) pieces of Solar Powered Streetlight with Galvanized Pipes which each ward received (10) pieces in his aim to illuminate everywhere.

As if that is not enough, considering the result achieved through such singular efforts in the first phase, he has procured yet another five hundred (500) units of Solar lights with poles to be installed across the local government.

We all know that power supply has been a major challenge to the local government for decades and with this newly purchased solar street lights, the nooks and crannies of each ward is expected to be brighten at night. Gone are the days when we walk through the streets of Waterside in darkness while our people coming home for festivity can as well feel sigh of relieve during their short stay.

Speaking at a meeting with Transportation Unions Executives, the local government boss advised and pleaded with drivers to drive safely during this time of the year because of the weather conditions caused by the harmattan season while wishing all Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year in advance.
