…Targets voter engagement across six Ogun Central LGAs, PVC collection
The Ogun State Progressive Governance Forum has announced plans to launch a political call centre in Abeokuta on November 2, 2026, as part of its grassroots mobilisation and voter engagement efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The convener of the forum, Adeolu Adebari, disclosed this in a statement, saying the initiative was designed to strengthen direct communication with voters, provide electoral information and promote awareness of the programmes and policies of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the statement, the centre is expected to focus on the 1,161,242 registered voters reportedly spread across the six local government areas of Ogun Central Senatorial District.
The forum said the facility would deploy trained contact agents and digital communication software to conduct telephone outreach, respond to voters’ inquiries, share information about the elections and monitor feedback from residents.
Adebari said the initiative reflected a shift towards technology-driven political engagement and more direct interaction with voters.
“The era of passive political engagement is completely over—the progressive movement in Ogun State has embraced a sharp, tech-driven, grassroots-focused strategy,” he said.
He added that the call centre would serve as a communication link between the forum and residents, with particular emphasis on encouraging eligible registered voters to locate and collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) from designated Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collection points.
The forum also plans to use the platform to communicate what it described as the achievements of the APC-led administration in Ogun State and explain the development agenda associated with Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.
According to Adebari, the engagement would highlight issues including grassroots development, support for small businesses, artisan empowerment and infrastructure expansion.
“We are making sure no voter is left behind, every PVC is collected, and the phenomenal achievements of our party are clearly understood by all,” he said, outlining the forum’s objectives.
The convener further stated that the initiative would support the forum’s mobilisation activities for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC National Assembly candidates in Ogun Central and Adeola, whom the party has positioned for the Ogun State governorship contest.
The statement identified Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, Hon. Afolabi Afuwape and Hon. Olumide Osoba among the National Assembly candidates the forum intends to support.
It added that the political call centre would form part of a broader grassroots network aimed at improving communication between political organisers and communities across the senatorial district.
The forum said its activities would include civic education, voter sensitisation and the dissemination of information on electoral participation, while urging registered voters to verify PVC collection arrangements through official INEC channels.
The Ogun State Progressive Governance Forum described itself as a political platform focused on civic education, grassroots development and good governance, using digital technology to expand engagement across the state.
The planned launch comes as political parties and support groups begin organising their structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
