The Difference Between YAYI and Other Candidates
By Sowole Oluwatosin Olawale (WALE YAYI)
As the race for the 2027 Ogun State governorship gathers momentum, many aspirants will present their visions, promises and manifestos to the people. Ultimately, it is the electorate that will decide who is best suited to lead the state. In my opinion, what distinguishes Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI) is his combination of experience, competence and demonstrated public service.
The first difference is experience. Senator YAYI has served in the Lagos State House of Assembly, the House of Representatives and the Senate, where he has contributed to national legislation and budget-making. Supporters believe this extensive background has given him a deep understanding of governance and public administration.
Another distinguishing feature is his expertise in public finance. As a Chartered Accountant and a legislator with significant experience in budget oversight, he has developed a reputation for understanding how public funds can be managed effectively. Many supporters see this as an important quality for a governor responsible for managing Ogun State’s resources.
Supporters also point to his grassroots engagement. Through educational support, empowerment initiatives, infrastructure projects and community interventions, we believe he has maintained a close connection with the people. They argue that effective leadership begins with understanding the needs of ordinary citizens.
Many of us further believe that Senator YAYI has the capacity to build partnerships that can attract investment, strengthen infrastructure, promote industrial growth and create employment opportunities. We see these priorities as essential to the future of Ogun State.
Importantly, every candidate in the 2027 race deserves to be assessed fairly and respectfully. Elections should be contests of ideas, vision and proven ability rather than personal attacks. Voters should compare candidates based on their records, qualifications, leadership qualities and plans for the future.
For us who support Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI), the difference lies in his years of public service, legislative experience, financial expertise and commitment to community development. We believe these qualities make him a compelling choice to lead Ogun State into a new era of progress and prosperity.
As we the citizens prepare to cast t
Our votes, the responsibility rests with each voter to examine every candidate carefully and make an informed decision. My hope is that Ogun State will continue to move forward under leadership that promotes accountability, inclusive development and the welfare of all its people.
