2023 Elections: NSCDC Promises Adequate Deployment Of Officers In Ogun

 The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State Command, Commandant Niyi  Ajibola, has assured Electorates,INEC, Adhoc staff and other stakeholders of the command’s readiness to deploy officers to secure All the polling units across the 20 local governments in Ogun state.

Commandant Niyi explained that in accordance with the directives of the  Corps Commandant General  Abubakar Ahmed  Audi’ on  continuous staff retraining exercise for a credible, free and fair elections,the command has held another workshop on Friday for its management team who will thereafter trained officers under their Divisions.

“As already established by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the stipulated national elections will come up February 25 and March 11, 2023”.

“To this end, efforts are in top gear to ensure adequate security across the State in conjunction with other security agencies in all the nooks and crannies of the State especially at all ends talking about INEC facilities, the Ad hoc staff for the elections and the electorates” the commandant said.

The Statement signed by Public Relations officer of the Command , Dyke Ogbonanya,  further stated that the State Command has finalized plans for appropriate distribution of its personnel towards a professional operation procedure and international best practices during election processes as seen in other climes.

“The State Command will be deploying all his tactical units for the exercise: the Female Squad; the Agro-Rangers, the Counter-Terrorist, Armed Squad, the Disaster Management Department and other sensitive units for the elections”, he noted.

In the same vein, “the Corps at its apex level of decision making have consistently trained and retrained its personnel for  professional conducts before, during and after the elections and these trainings are being cascaded down to the personnel at the various levels of comamnds: State, Area  and Divisional Commands across the country and this is one of the reasons for our convergence again today”, he concluded.

According to him, “the Corps has a critical impact in every elections particularly that of safeguarding all national assets and infrastructure during the process and general crowd control during the exercise, amongst other numerous functions”, he emphasized.

Commandant Niyi Ajibola therefore expressed the readiness of the  State Command for the elections by deploying  full capacity towards the success of the process in Ogun State.
