The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has reiterated his commitment to running an inclusive, people-oriented and development-driven administration if elected governor in the 2027 general election.
Adeola, who spoke during a series of strategic meetings with political groups and stakeholders at his office in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area, expressed appreciation for the growing support he has continued to receive across party lines and from various interest groups in the state.
The senator assured supporters that his administration would be founded on consultation, participation and collective decision-making, stressing that no stakeholder would be sidelined in the governance process.
“I want to reassure all my supporters, both old and new, that I will run an inclusive, people-oriented and development-focused government where no stakeholder will be left behind. My political philosophy is built around consultation, participation and collective decision-making on issues of socio-economic development of our state,” he said.
Among the groups that met with the APC candidate were leaders of the Ogun East Assembly (Yayi Apex), Yayi Teachers, Odogbolu Local Government Political Group, former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders and stakeholders from Ogun West Senatorial District, the Ogu General Assembly (Origin Group), and Team Akinlade, popularly known as Triple A.
Prominent stakeholders at the engagements included former Ogun State Deputy Governor, Salmot Badru; former governorship candidate, Adekunle Akinlade; PDP stalwart, Jinadu Ahmed; and Coordinator of Yayi Teachers across the state’s 20 local government areas, Sunday Odunaro.
Adeola highlighted several developmental projects he has facilitated across Ogun West, Ogun Central and Ogun East senatorial districts, including road construction, educational infrastructure, healthcare facilities, street lighting projects, erosion control measures and market development initiatives.
According to him, the aspiration to produce a governor from Ogun West through his candidacy can only be realised through unity, discipline, sacrifice and sustained grassroots mobilisation across the state.
He pledged to build on the achievements of the current administration while ensuring prudent deployment of state resources for the benefit of the people.
The senator also assured new supporters of equal opportunities and a sense of belonging within his political structure, promising to continue engaging aggrieved stakeholders and political actors.
“I will convene additional reconciliation meetings involving stakeholders and aggrieved political actors to ensure inclusive participation and integration of all support groups into campaign activities,” he said.
Speaking during one of the engagements, Alhaja Badru declared that the people of Ogun West were strongly behind Adeola’s governorship ambition, citing his developmental interventions, grassroots appeal, political inclusiveness and commitment to the state’s progress.
She stressed the importance of unity, reconciliation, grassroots mobilisation and strategic coordination ahead of the 2027 elections.
Also speaking, Akinlade, on behalf of his political group and newly aligned PDP supporters, described Adeola’s governorship bid and the quest for an Ogun West governor as a matter that transcends partisan politics.
According to him, the aspiration represents a historic pursuit of equity, justice and fairness in the state’s 50-year political history.
He, however, urged that all members and support groups be accorded equal treatment, recognised for their contributions, and adequately represented in campaign structures and future governance arrangements.
The meetings are part of ongoing consultations by the APC governorship candidate as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections in Ogun State.
