
A peaceful atmosphere prevailed on Thursday in Ward 13, Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State, as stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) trooped out in large numbers to affirm their support for the party’s governorship consensus candidate for the 2027 election, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.
Speaking after the primary election exercise, the Senior Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor on Youth and Sports, Hon. Tunde Delu, said party members in the ward were united in their decision to back the senator based on their confidence in his leadership capacity and developmental vision for the state.
According to him, the exercise was conducted peacefully, reflecting the level of acceptance and support the senator enjoys among party faithful in the area.
“It’s peaceful in Abeokuta South Local Government Ward 13 and in Ogun State as a whole. We are affirming the consensus candidate of our party for the 2027 governorship election, who is Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi),” he stated.
Delu noted that their support for the senator was driven by their belief in his vision for a more prosperous Ogun State and his record of impactful representation.
“We are supporting him because we believe in his vision for Ogun State and his drive for a more prosperous Ogun State. We can all see what he has been doing, especially since he became the senator representing Ogun West. He has impacted the whole state positively, and a lot of development has spread across Ogun State,” he said.
He further declared that Ward 13 remained fully committed to the senator’s governorship aspiration, describing the support as total and unanimous.
“As I said earlier, we believe in his vision that Senator Yayi will drive Ogun State to the next level. Ward 13, Abeokuta South, is 100 percent for Senator Olamilekan Yayi,” Delu added.
