The President, Federal Republic of Nigeria; Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described the Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland; Oba Micheal Adedotun Gbadebo as a symbol of unity that has continuously fostered a sense of belonging among his people.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who made this known during the thanksgiving service of the eightieth birthday of the Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland; Oba Micheal Adedotun Gbadebo at the Cathedral Church of St. Peters, Ake, Abeokuta, said that Alake’s support for the arts, culture and education has enriched the lives of his subject and ensured the preservation of their heritage for generations to come.
The president who was represented by Governor Dapo Abiodun, said that the Alake’s reign has been marked by wisdom, compassion and unwavering dedication to his people, even as he commended the Alake’s unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of his subjects and indeed all the great people of the nation.
” Throughout his reign, he has shown a deep connection to the cultural heritage and traditions of Egbaland, he has been a symbol of unity, fostering a sense of belonging among his people, his support for the arts, culture and education has enriched the lives of his subject and ensured the preservation of their heritage for generations to come.
” Through out his long reign, he has exemplified the qualities of a just and compassionate monarch, his unwavering dedication to the betterment of the lives of his people and the development of his community has earned him untold respect and admiration,” he said.
Earlier in his remarks, the Governor of Ogun State; Prince Dapo Abiodun who described the Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland as a disciplined and dependable monarch, also commended his unique way of resolving conflicts in collaboration with other royal fathers in the state.
” Egbaland is blessed to have you as an exemplary monarch and we are delighted to be associated in successes you have recorded in the last eighthen years of your reign.
” I am personally happy that Egbaland has witnessed a lot of socio economic transformation since 2005 when you ascended the throne of your forefathers.
” Kabiyesi, you are disciplined, you are dependable, you are consistent, you are cerebral.
” Egbaland and indeed our state has benefited from this great attribute of your’s, your unique way of resolving conflicts in collaboration with other royal father’s has brought peace, unity and stability to our state, you are indeed a rate gift to our people,”he said.
In his message taken from the book of Psalm 101, verse 2-8, the Archbishop, Metropolitan and Primate of All Nigeria(2000-2010); The Most Revd. Peter Akinola who urged the celebrant to always emulate the psalmist by being honest, commended the monarch for being a child of God and for having just one wife.
