Residents Commends Gov. Abiodun, Appeals for Speedy Completion Of Magboro–Makogi Road

Residents of the Magboro–Makogi community in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area have applauded the Ogun State Government for the ongoing construction of the 8.17-kilometre Magboro–Makogi Road, describing the project as a major step toward improving mobility and boosting socio-economic activities in the area.

The road, being constructed with concrete interlocking to address the area’s longstanding challenge of waterlogging, is currently progressing steadily.

During an inspection tour on Wednesday, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, said the project forms part of the state government’s broader commitment to expanding durable infrastructure across Ogun.

Residents who spoke during the visit expressed satisfaction with the quality and standard of work. They noted that the road, upon completion, would significantly ease movement, enhance business operations, and improve the overall aesthetics of the community.

Speaking on behalf of shop owners, Mr. Uche Okoro and Alhaji Wasiu Sanusi commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for sustaining infrastructural development across the state. They, however, appealed for faster completion as the road remains a major route for both residents and commercial users.

“We are grateful for this project. It will bring great relief to everyone here. All we ask is that the construction be completed as quickly as possible,” they said.

Responding, Engr. Akinsanya disclosed that he had directed the contractor to accelerate work and make full use of the dry season window to ensure timely delivery.

“The government is determined to ensure this project is delivered promptly and to the highest quality. With the rains subsiding, the contractor has been instructed to intensify efforts so that residents can begin to enjoy the benefits of this new road as soon as possible,” the Commissioner said.

Project Manager, Mr. Jason Zhang, also assured that the road would be delivered according to specifications and within the agreed timeline, while commending the cooperation of both the residents and the state government.
