The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun West Senatorial District has commenced its grassroots campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections, with party faithful and supporters gathered in Idiroko in Ipokia Local Government Area for the campaign flag-off.
The event, held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, brought together PDP members, supporters and stakeholders from across Ogun West for the official commencement of the party’s governorship and State House of Assembly campaign activities in the district.
Addressing the gathering, the PDP candidate for Yewa South State Constituency, Hon. Rotimi Ogundele, popularly known as SOLUTION, called for unity, greater grassroots participation and sustained mobilisation among party members.
Ogundele stressed the importance of collective action and active participation at the grassroots, noting that the aspirations of the people of Ogun West could only be effectively advanced through unity of purpose and commitment to the democratic process.
He urged party faithful to remain steadfast and work together towards strengthening the PDP structures across wards and local government areas in the senatorial district.
The campaign flag-off also provided an opportunity for party leaders and candidates to interact directly with supporters and communicate their vision to the electorate.
The gathering featured messages centred on party unity, grassroots mobilisation, inclusive participation and the collective aspirations of the people of Ogun West.
Idiroko, a major border community in Ipokia Local Government Area, was consequently transformed into a hub of political activities as PDP supporters gathered in large numbers to demonstrate their support for the party and its candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
The IRORUNDE ’27 Campaign Council said the flag-off marked the beginning of a sustained grassroots engagement across Ogun West, with the campaign expected to reach communities, wards and local government areas across the district.
