The OKII Political Movement has officially endorsed Hon. Joseph Folorunsho Adegbesan for a second term as the Member of the House of Representatives representing Ijebu North, Ijebu East, and Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency.
The endorsement was announced by the Convener of the Movement, Hon. Olu Okeowo, during a strategic meeting held at Hon. Adegbesan’s residence in Awa on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
While declaring the Movement’s support, Hon. Okeowo expressed deep concerns over what he described as the continued marginalization of Ogun Waterside Local Government in terms of infrastructure and developmental projects. He noted the limited presence of democratic dividends in the area and called for urgent and deliberate government intervention.

As part of the endorsement event, Hon. Okeowo presented branded campaign souvenirs and commended Hon. Adegbesan for his proactive representation and consistent commitment to constituency development.
He further highlighted several critical challenges confronting the people of Ogun Waterside, including gaps in youth empowerment, coastal road development and the exclusion of key stakeholders, persistent power outages, concerns around equitable leadership representation, issues relating to oil exploration and local interests, fairness in elective positions, security challenges, and the need for stronger collaboration among elected representatives.
In his response, Hon. Adegbesan expressed appreciation to Hon. Okeowo and members of the OKII Political Movement for their continued support and confidence in his leadership. He acknowledged the concerns raised and reaffirmed his commitment to addressing them.
The lawmaker also pointed to systemic challenges such as bureaucratic bottlenecks and delays in project execution, which often limit the effectiveness of National Assembly members. He, however, commended the support of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Dapo Abiodun, while emphasizing his ongoing legislative efforts and achievements.
The endorsement of Hon. Adegbesan by the OKII Political Movement represents a significant boost to his political standing, reflecting growing confidence in his leadership and performance among constituents.
