OGUNCCIMA THUMBS UP GOV. ABIODUN’S DEVELOPMENTAL DRIVES

The President, Ogun State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Trade and Investment OGUNCCIMA Lion Niyi Osiyemi has commended the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for creating an enabling business environment for all levels of businesses to flourish in the State.

OGUNCCIMA President gave this commendation during the opening ceremony of the 2026 edition of Gateway International Trade Fair with the theme “Promoting Businesses Through Partnership” held at the MKO Abiola Trade Fair Complex, Laderin, Abeokuta.

Lion Niyi Osiyemi who applauded the Governor for providing support towards the successful hosting consecutively six editions of the Trade Fair in the last six years also called on participants to leverage the platform provided by the Trade Fair to expand network and build partnership that their businesses needed to grow.

While lamenting on the damage suffered by the torrential rainfall recently, the Presidenth appealed to the State government to help construct a permanent pavilion for the Chamber which would ease them the havoc occasioned by the heavy rainfall.

In his keynote address, the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun represented by his Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela, the Governor said the Trade Fair had consistently been a platform for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to showcase their products and build connections which would help businesses as well as the State to prosper.

He noted that the government remained unwavering at continually improving the business enabling environment adding that reforms and policies were already yielding positive fruits as the State continues to wax stronger and becoming the investors preferred destination.

“Ogun State has been intentional and deliberate about at providing necessary infrastructure and implementing policies for creating an enabling environment for businesses. We are concerned about small businesses and big businesses. You can see the results of this administration’s efforts with the investments that have flowed into the State. There are more in the pipeline,” Abiodun said.

The Governor who assured of his administration’s continuous support, lauded the OGUNCCIMA for its consistency and professionalism over the years commended investors and members of the private sector for always supporting the Trade Fair.

Speaking, National President, NACCIMA, Engr. (Dr.) Jani Ibrahim represented by Asiwaju (Dr.) Michael Cole lauded the Ogun State Governor for his administration’s business-friendly policies which have made the business environment conducive adding that different investors now see Ogun State as a preferred destination for establishing their businesses

In her goodwill message, Dame Adesola Adebutu commended the present administration for consistently holding the Trade Fair in the last six years stressing the need for residents of the State to ensure a commerce-friendly Governor is elected. She added that the Government needs to encourage traders and other business owners to be members of chambers of Commerce just as it is in China.

In their contributions, two of the exhibitors at the Fair, Mr. Razak Adeyemi and Mr. Matthew Adebayo said the turnout of visitors at the exhibition had been encouraging, commending OGUNCCIMA and the State government for this year’s edition.

The Trade Fair programme is an annual event organised by the Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Trade and Investment (OGUNCCIMA) in collaboration with the State government.
