Following the approval of the State Government, the Executive Chairman, Ogun Waterside Local Government, Hon. Odunnoiki AbdulGaniyu Adetoye has sworn in newly appointed Senior Political Assistants and Political Assistants to the Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun. CON, at the Local Government Secretariat, Abigi, today, 19th September 2025.
The Council Chairman expressed his immense gratitude to the Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his all-inclusive governance at the grassroots level to involve political participation, which will bring about massive development. Noting that, this singular act of appointing our sons and daughters to positions of responsibility further demonstrated his belief in harnessing local capacity for statewide progress.
Hon. Odunnoiki then congratulated the newly sworn-in Senior Political Assistants and Political Assistants on their landmark appointment that cut across all Wards of the Local Government.
He urged them to dedicate themselves to the service of the Council area in particular and the State at large, and that they should cooperate with the government in implementing policies and programmes that would benefit the citizenry, promote economic growth, and enhance the overall quality of life in Ogun Waterside.
The Council Helman charged all the appointees to be good Ambassadors of their respective Wards and Local Government.
Speaking earlier, Hon. Akeem Balogun, former Deputy Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly and member, Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board, advised the appointees to see this as a stepping stone in their political career and serve the people to the best of their ability.
Appreciating the State Governor and Party Stalwart on the confidence reposed in him and other appointees, Otunba Segun Ogun, Chairman Efire Ward 6, appreciated Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, for trusting them and for giving this political appointment, being the first of its kind in the history of Ogun State politics. He assured that they will never take it for granted as they are going to work assiduously towards taking the Council area to an enviable height and that the All Progressive Congress (APC) is going to be the party to beat in the next general elections.
The epoch-making event which attracted a mammoth crowd from all the Ten Wards, also had in attendance dignitaries such as the Vice Chairman, Alhaja Olabode Ogunlana, Leader of the House, Hon. Felix Ajayi, the Secretary to the Local Government, Prince Hon. Okuwoga Adeyinka, Honourable Councilors, Supervisors, and Special Advisers, Commissioner IV, LGSC, Alhaji Rasaq Olatunde Rufai, other Party Leaders, APC Party Youth Leaders in each Ward, Women Leaders, Senior Career Officers amongst many other well-wishers.
