The newly posted Head of Local Government Administration, (HOLGA) in Ogun Waterside Local Government, Abigi, Alhaji Balogun AbdulAkeem has harped on the need for all the staff of the council area to be self-disciplined while discharging their official duties.
The head of Civil Servant in the Local Government made stated this during an interactive session with members of staff.
He condemned in its entirety late coming to work, absenteeism, truancy, and abscondment while reminding them that all these acts are misconducts and are punishable under the extant law of the Commission which have broken down into smaller units and published in a way that will make it more easier to read and digest.
He stressed that, he was transferred to the Local Government as the representative of the Commission to make some amendments to some anomalies which he would like to achieve with the supports and cooperations of every member of staff who will later be better for the outcome.
Comrade Balogun vented his displeasure over the rate at which personalities in and outside the Local Government now viewed the attitudes of staff in here stating that, he had heard so many nasty things about the staff of the Council , some of what he heard according to him were good while the bad portions are so enormous and that, as a Comrade, he’ll need the cooperation of all to achieve maximum results, he pointed out that he’s not in the Council Area to witch-hunt anyone while staff should not belaboured his efforts at sanitizing the system as everyone has his or her name to bear and to protect in every situation.
He promised to make sure that no stone are unturned among the bad eggs while those that are dutifully, mannerly and diligently at work will be rewarded and gets what is due to them as at when due.
While welcoming and appreciating the HOLGA, the NULGE Branch Chairman, Comrade Abayomi Adefowora supported the warning call and drew the attention of all the staff to the bad names these their attitudes had given us or the entire Local Government at large as it has eating deep into fabrics of some of staff to the point that they don’t want to change for good because, it has been said to me at various fora that our Staff don’t come to work, which has putting him in a state of shame and that, he has vowed not to plead again on behalf of staff over any act of misconducts. As he’s begged and also begging staff to turn a new leaf and sing a new song now.
