Ogun NUJ Felicitates Senator Lanre Tejuoso on Birthday

ABEOKUTA: The Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has congratulated former senator representing Ogun Central, Lanre Tejuoso, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a distinguished statesman whose contributions to public service remain remarkable.

In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the union, the Chairman of the Ogun NUJ, Akinwale Olanrewaju, said the council, alongside its elders, leaders and entire membership, joined family members, friends and political associates in celebrating the former lawmaker.Olanrewaju noted that Tejuoso’s career in public service has been marked by dedication to the welfare of the people and impactful leadership across various positions he held in government.

According to him, Tejuoso served with distinction as Commissioner for Special Duties, Environment and Sports in Ogun State, where he demonstrated a versatile leadership style that led to notable improvements in the sectors under his supervision.

The NUJ chairman added that the former commissioner later represented Ogun Central at the Senate, where he further distinguished himself through legislative contributions and initiatives aimed at grassroots empowerment.

The council also acknowledged Tejuoso’s cordial relationship with the media, describing it as one built on mutual respect and a shared commitment to promoting an informed society.Olanrewaju noted that the former senator maintained an open-door policy with journalists and was always responsive to media inquiries during his time in public office, earning him admiration within the journalism community.

He said the council appreciates Tejuoso’s consistent support for the media as the “Fourth Estate of the Realm” in its responsibility to promote democracy, transparency and accountability.While celebrating the former senator on his new age, the union commended his integrity, philanthropic activities and commitment to human capital development, noting that he has remained a pillar of support to many within and beyond the Egba community.

The council therefore prayed for continued good health, wisdom and many more years of impactful service to humanity for the former lawmaker.

The statement was signed by the Secretary of the Ogun NUJ, Bunmi Adigun.
