Justice Abiodun Jordan Adeyemi siting in court 2 of the Federal High Court, Abeokuta Judicial Division, convicted and sentenced one Muritala Muhammed for vandalising electric cables belonging to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) on 9th April, 2025.
Muritala Muhammed male, was arraigned in court on a one count charge of committing a felony to wit, unlawfully disconnecting, damaging and removing electric fittings and wires belonging to IBEDC and used same in transforming electricity at Idode, Ijebu North-East, Ogun State, Nigeria.
This offence contravenes Section 1 (10) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act, CAP M17, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State Command Headquarters, Abeokuta, Commandant Remilekun Omolade Ekundayo, outrightly condemns in totality all forms of illegal destruction of government properties and promises to bring all perpetrators to justice.
