Ogun LG Elections:Dapo Abiodun Traders Association Backs Akamo As APC Chairmanship Candidate for Abeokuta South LG

The Dapo Abiodun Traders Association (DATA), Abeokuta chapter has endorsed Hon Sunday Oluwagbemiga Akamo as the preferred candidate for the position of Chairman, Abeokuta South Local government in the forthcoming local government elections

Speaking at a well attended meeting held at Arinlese, Ward 4, of the local government, the Ogun State Chairman of DATA, Hon Mojeed Adegunle said the Association is endorsing Hon Akamo as the preferred candidate for November 16 local government election based on his numerous assistance to the people of Abeokuta South, and his unparalleled philantropic assistance to the DATA members and the less privileged.

According to Hon Mojeed Adegunle, the decision to endorse Hon Akamo as Chairmanship candidate of APC in the forthcoming local government elections is in the best interest of the Abeokuta South Local Government people and the traders people.

Hon. Mojeed Adegunle said Hon. Sunday Oluwagbemiga Akamo has performed in terms of taking care of the less privileged and the traders even without any political appointments, with his antecedents as a Philanthropist, he deserves the support of everyone.

Abeokuta South is a very sensitive Local Government and houses political heavyweights, today’s endorsement has justified the confidence reposed in him and should be supported to be the flag bearer of All Progressives Congress candidate at the November 16, local government elections.

“For many years now, we have enjoyed tremendous empowerment and upliftment coming from Hon Akamo . Our people most especially Traders Union and all strata of the society are comfortable and happy with his supports both in cash and others and we are extremely happy to throw our support behind him.

“From here, we are going back home to deepen consultations with our people and also pray that he became victorious in the primary and general elections with a landslide victory.

The DATA Executives and members also thanked the Governor of the State, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his unparalleled achievements in the State , saying that both Akamo at Abeokuta South Local government, and the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun at the State level, the people are going to enjoy the dividend of democracy more

“ We want to go on record as endorsing Hon. Sunday Oluwagbemiga Akamo as the Abeokuta South Local government Chairman in the Nov 16 local government elections for he has proved to be a man with good character, and without doubt he is the most qualified person amongst the aspirants to further pilot the affairs of Abeokuta South Local government in continuation of the good works of his Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun and effective delivery of dividends of democracy in the local government”

Others at the meeting are Comrade Olowu Ibrahim (Ward 4 Chairman, ), Adeleke Samson (Starcom) Oyegunle Omowale welfare Officer, Adegunle Ibrahim former Secretary, Abeokuta South, and Alhaji Akinyele Isikilu

Responding, Hon. Sunday Oluwagbemiga Akamo, thanked the DATA Executives and members for their endorsement and support, assuring them of his continued commitment to the progress and development of Abeokuta South Local government.

He said he is overwhelmed with joy for the gesture saying that he would not disappoint them if elected.
