The Comrade (Lion) Ajiboye Olanrewaju Tunji led Ogun state Branch of judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN has celebrated its 2024 End of the year and valedictory party in a grand style.
The two in one event featured presentation of Gifts to Retiring members of the union and Awards for Some Notable Nigerians.
In his Valedictory speech, the Honourable Chief Judge of Ogun state, Hon. justice Mosunmola Dipeolu said that the event is an opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments of the year 2024 as she appreciated the retiring staff members for their dedication,and being a pillar of support in ensuring that justice is administered effectively and efficiently in Ogun state judiciary.
She enjoined the retiring staff to stay active and be engaged by embracing hobbies , volunteerism,and part time work that will keep their body active.
On his part, the chief registrar, High Court of Ogun state, Mr AJ Ojikutu enjoined judiciary staff to imbibe the good quality of the retiring members in the area of resilience and Integrity as the work of judiciary is an essential pillar of justice and democracy.
While appreciating JUSUN executive and members for the quality of service rendered so far, the chief registrar canvassed for more support from the union in 2025.
He noted that the Ogun state Judiciary will continue to remember the retirees for good.
Comrade,(Lion) Ajiboye Olanrewaju Tunji, The Chairman Ogun state Branch of the judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN who expressed his profound gratitude to God for sparing his life and that of his members to witness the end of year 2024 despite the harsh economic situation in Nigeria. He appreciated the Chief Judge of Ogun state, Hon. Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu for implementation of Labour Friendly policies that have in no small measure be of great benefit for judiciary workers, this includes posting allowance, upward review of drivers’ monthly stipends, promotion and conversion of staff, upgrading of judiciary clinics among others.
The Chairman who reeled out his executives’ achievements for year 2024, extended his appreciation to the president of customary court of appeal, Honourable justice Adebisi Olusola Femi-Segun for being a pillar of support for the union, and all the honourable judges in the state judiciary.
He also Appreciated the 44th President of Lion Clubs international, Abeokuta Lions Club, District 404-B4, Nigeria, Lion Chief Sunday Babatunde Ajileye MJF, NLCF for his unflinching supoort since he assumed duty as the JUSUN state chairman.
Comrade Ajiboye also canvassed for the swift actualization of total financial autonomy for the Judiciary, the third arm of government in year 2025.
Some of the achievements according to the chairman are , Setting up of Reconciliation Committee to promote Unity among members, Provision of free medical services to members of the union, rendering support for legal services to members, disbursement of revolving loans to junior staff, actualisation of the payment of posting allowances to staff members, yearly celebration of an end of the year party/Valedictory program to honour retired members. Training for retired members,
Provision of social services and emergency financial assistance to members
Prompt promotion and conversion of eligible staff members as and when dur Rendering career development
support to members.
Constant feedback and quick, up-to- date information dissemination to members.
Prompt attention to the welfare of Judiciary workers from the Ogun State Government and the Management of Ogun State Judiciary.
According to him ” Today, we gather and honour our retirees, who to celebratend their lives to serving Ogun Judiciary and this union. Stuste, the Stations have been invaluable, and we are grateful for their service.
“May I use this moment to express my profound and sincere appreciation to My Lend the Honourable, the Chief Judge of Ogun State. Hon. Justice Mosunmola Arinola Dipeolu, FICMC, FNHR, for approving the second edition of the valedictory program and end-of-year party of the union to hold in the premises of the High Court Complex. I am also pleased to offer my genuine admiration and thanks to Your Lordship for implementing various labor-friendly policies that have significantly benefited the Ogun State Judiciary workers. Your Lordship’s approval and implementation of posting allowance, the upward review of drivers monthly stipends from -N-15,000.00 to -N-25,000.00, the approval and implementation of two (2) days off-duty, promotion and conversion of staff as at when due, and recognition of staff with additional academic qualifications are commendable.
“Furthermore, upgrading the Judiciary clinic, providing essential drugs, and ensuring adequate transportation for staff have made a substantial difference in our work environment. Those honour with distinguished awards for their meaning contributions to national development
included a one time commissioner for forestry, who also served as commissioner for agriculture and environment in Ogun state, Hon. Ayobami Oluwunmi Olubori, Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Ilaro Branch, Samson Kayode Esq., and a former Chairmanship Aspirant, in Abeokuta South for the recently concluded local government election, , Hon Ayodeji Kehinde Olalekan.
