
As the world marks World Radio Day, today Thursday, February 13, 2025, the Premium Radio Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State, is set to host a special event featuring the Ogun State Commissioner for Environment, Ola Oresanya, as the guest lecturer.
The event, scheduled to hold at the Aremo Olusegun Osoba Hall, Iwe Irohin, Abeokuta, from 11:00am, will bring together journalists, broadcasters, and media professionals to celebrate the power of radio and discuss its role in driving positive change.
The theme of this year’s World Radio Day is ‘RADIO AND CLIMATE CHANGE’
Ola Oresanya, beyond his current role as Environment Commissioner has a rich history in radio broadcasting, having spent several years at Radio O.Y.O in Oyo State.
His deep understanding of the media landscape makes him uniquely positioned to speak on the sub-theme, ‘Leveraging Radio for Climate Action: The Role of Media in Environmental Sustainability’.
According to the Chairman, Ogun NUJ, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju, the lecture will highlight the critical role of radio in promoting environmental awareness, and driving policies that support climate action.
Premium Radio Chapel of Ogun NUJ is a gathering of reporters, editors and broadcasters across privately owned radio stations in Ogun State.
