Ogun ADC Elects New Executives, Famojuro Emerges State Chairman

In a strategic move to reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Ogun State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has elected a new set of executives, with Hon. Emmanuel Famojuro emerging as the State Chairman.
The state congress, held in Abeokuta, was supervised by national officials of the party, led by the Chairman of the Congress Committee, Hon. Olatunji Shoyinka. He was joined by the National Financial Secretary, Hon. Dimeji Fabiyi, alongside other party stakeholders.

In his acceptance speech, Famojuro called for unity among party members, assuring them of purposeful and result-driven leadership. He pledged to strengthen the party’s structure through grassroots mobilisation and inclusiveness, particularly encouraging the active participation of youths and women.
“We must work as one family. Youths and women remain the backbone of our party,” he said.

He further appealed to party leaders for guidance and support, noting that their experience is critical to the growth and stability of the ADC in the state.

“I believe we can, and we will deliver diligently,” he added.
Earlier, Shoyinka stated that the party would only recognise authentic members and the newly elected executives, describing the congress as a significant step towards repositioning the ADC for future electoral success.

Expressing confidence in Famojuro’s leadership, he said, “He is capable of leading Ogun State to where we desire.”
He also stressed the importance of unity, maintaining that no individual is bigger than the party, while expressing optimism about the ADC’s prospects.

Also speaking, Fabiyi criticised the immediate past leadership under Otunba Femi Soluade, accusing it of stalling the party’s growth and discouraging prospective aspirants.

He urged the new leadership to foster inclusiveness and maintain an open-door policy, alleging that the previous administration operated in a manner that alienated committed members.

“Many credible aspirants were discouraged due to lack of inspiration and direction. That must change,” Fabiyi said.
He, however, expressed optimism that the party has now charted a new course and is poised for renewed growth under the newly inaugurated executives.
