The Nigeria Union of Journalists, OGBC Chapel, has expressed shock at the passage of a renowned Journalist and retired Deputy General Manager of the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation, OGBC, Prince Toyin Adegboyega Gbadebo.
Prince Gbadebo, whose sad event occurred on Tuesday served the Union in different capacities, both at the Chapel and State Council level, during his service years and continued to identify with NUJ even after retirement.
A statement signed by the Chairman of the OGBC Chapel, Comrade Chris Ogbu, and Secretary, Comrade Elizabeth Kuforiji, describes the former Deputy General Manager as a pillar of support for the Union, noting that his death was a huge loss to the Union in particular and everyone whose life he impacted in one way or the other.
“Prince Gbadeh, as he was fondly called, was always there whenever we called on him. Last year, when we held a sentforth for a retired member, he was there with us. Just last Friday, he was with us as another member of the Union penned down. A jovial and jolly good fellow, he danced and exchanged banters with everyone during the outing”, the statement adds.
Prince Toyin Adegboyega Gbadebo, who retired 8 years ago as OGBC Deputy General Manager (News) was born on September 13th, 1956. He studied Mass Communication at the University of Lagos.
Prince Gbadebo is survived by wife and children.
