The Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ NTA Ogun State chapel has described the sudden death of the wife of the General Overseer of Victory Life Bible (VLBC) Apostle Lawrence Achudume Reverend Folake Achudume on Saturday 3rd August 2024 as shocking and saddening.
A statement by the Chairman and Secretary of the chapel Comrade Yemmy Dalemo and Luqman Adefeso on behalf of the chapel note that the transition unto glory of the Lead Pastor of VLBC occurred at a time her anointing is mostly needed to mentor the young souls especially the heavenly bound Children of God to their maker.
The Chapel notes that Revd Fola Achudume was the first cleric who officiated at the maiden NUJ NTA Abeokuta annual New Year Prayer in January 2024 where she prayed for safety, protection, blessings and against untimely death of the media Practitioners in Ogun State.
According to the statement, “we were preparing to give her a surprise birthday gift on her coming birthday anniversary in September, and hearing the news of her departure is a huge blow unto us”.
We however take solace in the fact that the good soldier of Christ has gone to lay down her sword at the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ as she has indeed fought the good fight of faith and now awaiting the crown of glory which will be given to her by the Lord Jesus Christ.
While consoling the General Overseer of VLBC Pastor Lawrence Achudume, the Children, Family and the entire body of Christ over the passage of our benefactor, the Chapel urged them not to be sad but rejoice in the Lord as Apostle Paul encourages in the book kf 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14.
Revd Mrs Fola Achudume is Godly, passionate and committed to the welfare of others, irrespective of gender, age, religion and ethnicity the attributes which endeared us to her, the statement adds.
May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
