
The College of Security management, of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC Abeokuta Ogun State Capital, has graduated about 165 officers in the College’s Composite Arms Training Program, field officers, arms handling training, and agro-rangers from Ogun, Oyo, Lagos, and Kano states.
The ceremony, held at the College of Security Management premises in the Abeokuta, remains part of efforts to tackle the emerging security threats and challenges in the country.
Addressing the graduating gallant officers who have been taken through the rigorous training exercise, the Provost Of NSCDC College of Security management, Abeokuta , Assitant Commandant General, Niyi Akintelure emphasized the need for discipline, vigilance, and integrity as guiding principles to safeguard vulnerable members of society, critical national infrastructure, and assets. Over the past weeks.
“The 165 officers undergone vigorous physical, mental, and moral training and have been tested in endurance, grace, in accuracy, and refined in discipline. You have learned not only how to bear arms, but also how to do so responsibly. Within the bounds of law, ethics, and moral services. Let me remind you, in the NSCDC, arms are not for intimidation, but for protection.
Arms Handling and Tactical Discipline Course that is popularly known to us as COCATRAP 030, РОАНТ 019 and AGRO-RANGER 017 by this batch of officers and men.
He therefore charged the officers to be shining examples of the new generation of disciplined, professional, and people oriented civil defenders. Speaking further , he admonished them to let their conducts reflect the confidence the Nigerian people have in the Corps.
” The NSCDC has earned respect through service it is your duty to sustain and improve that image through integrity, humility, and vigilance.
“The firearms you are now carrying is a symbol of personal power, it is a national trust place in your hands. It’s to defend the critical national assets, infrastructure, protection of lives and properties, and uphold the peace and unity of the nation.”
The Event attracted Various Heads of Security Agencies Across the state Including the representative of the Ogun state Governor, Dapo Abiodun and Civil Society organizationa who Commended officers and men of the NSCDC for rising to the occasion in terms of adequate security protection for lives and properties while assuring the corps of their maximum support to deliver on their mandates.
