In a heartfelt celebration of service, excellence, and visionary leadership, the Nigerian Students Union UK (NSUUK) has conferred the Outstanding Leadership, Youth Development & Community Impact Award 2025 on Engr. Oluwatoyin Omotosho, recognizing his lifelong commitment to building a better future for Nigerian youth and his transformative impact on communities both at home and abroad.

The prestigious award ceremony, held in Lagos, brought together youth leaders, education advocates, and dignitaries from across sectors to honour a man described as “a quiet force of positive change, whose influence transcends borders.”

Reading the official citation, Cynthia Tewogbade-Verissimo, student welfare coordinator for the Nigerian Student Union UK, highlighted Engr. Omotosho’s “exemplary leadership, lifelong dedication to youth development, and unwavering service to the community.” She emphasized his instrumental role in founding the renowned Eyes On The Future School, a beacon of quality education and mentorship that has uplifted hundreds of students from underserved backgrounds.

“This award is more than recognition,” she said. “It is a thank-you from young Nigerians around the world who have been inspired by your story, your values, and your service.”

Yemi Soile, the founder and Head Coordinator of the Nigerian Students Union UK, who presented the award to Omotosho, praised his unique brand of leadership marked by integrity and humility. “Engr. Omotosho reminds us that impact isn’t just about titles or wealth — it’s about the lives we touch, the futures we build, and the name we preserve through honesty and service,” he said.

Engr. Omotosho, who currently serves as the Head of Lagos State’s Anti-Land-Grabbing Agency, has long been respected for his unwavering stance on justice, transparency, and public service. His cross-sector accomplishments in engineering, governance, and education have earned him accolades and deep admiration within and beyond Nigeria.

Accepting the award, a visibly moved Omotosho dedicated it to “every young Nigerian with a dream, and every teacher, mentor, or parent who dares to believe in the power of potential.” He reaffirmed his belief that “a good name is better than riches,” encouraging the youth to lead with purpose and serve with integrity.

“I am humbled by this honour from the Nigerian Students Union UK,” he said. “Let this moment serve as a reminder that when we invest in our youth and protect our communities, we’re building a Nigeria that is truly unstoppable.”

The event concluded with a call to action from NSUUK for more partnerships between diaspora bodies and local leaders to expand educational and social empowerment programmes across Nigeria.

Engr. Omotosho’s award is a powerful nod to the enduring impact of authentic leadership, and a beacon for the next generation striving to make their mark on the world.
