Women supporters under the aegis of the Lawee Sisters of Ogun Waterside have pledged their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Five-for-Five campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The commitment was made during a grassroots engagement between the group and Hon. Lawal Samusideen Adekunle, popularly known as Lawee, in Ibiade, Ogun Waterside.
The engagement provided an opportunity for interaction and mobilisation, with the Lawee Sisters reaffirming their readiness to participate actively in grassroots activities aimed at promoting the five APC candidates being supported by the group across Ogun Waterside.
The campaign materials displayed during the event prominently featured the Five-for-Five message, covering the presidential, governorship, Ogun East Senatorial District, federal constituency and Ogun Waterside State House of Assembly contests.
Speaking during the engagement, Lawee said his political activities would remain focused on peaceful engagement and communicating issues and programmes capable of advancing the interests of the people of Ogun Waterside State Constituency.
He urged his supporters to maintain peace and decorum throughout the political season, stressing the importance of issue-based campaigns that would highlight the needs and aspirations of the people.
The engagement later moved into the streets of Ibiade, particularly the Araromi Street axis, where Lawee, accompanied by a large crowd of supporters and members of the Lawee Sisters, embarked on a grassroots walkabout.
The procession provided an opportunity for the political group to interact with residents and supporters, while further strengthening its grassroots mobilisation across the community.
The Lawee Sisters said they would continue to work as a coordinated women-led grassroots group in promoting the Five-for-Five message and supporting the five candidates.
The group described the initiative as a demonstration of unity and shared commitment to their political activities in Ogun Waterside.
The event ended with the group reaffirming its slogan: “One Team, One Vision, Five-for-Five.”
