Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele has noted that as Muslims, knowledge of the deen is not about eloquence or large followings, but rather about sincerity, depth and alignment with the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah.

The Deputy Governor, who made this known during the Annual Salako Family Tafsir, held at the Ota Recreation Club Field, GRA Ota, also noted that it is the duty and responsibility of the clerics to guide with wisdom, as congregants continue to seek knowledge from those who are truly learned.

Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele added that Islam teaches the importance of unity and Muslims must work together to strengthen the bonds within the Ummah and amongst the people as a community, a town, a local Government and as a state at large saying we all must remain focused on collective progress.

She stressed that as a people, we must never underestimate the importance of having our own people in key positions of influence in government, because it is only through such representation that our voices are heard and our interests protected.

Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele also used the opportunity to call on the people, especially youths, to take advantage of various opportunities available through government programs, opining that these were avenues for employment and empowerment for the maximum benefit for the people.

While appreciating all those present especially members of the Salako family, she implored them to remember that beyond fasting and prayer, Ramadan was a time for self discipline, reflection and increase devotion to Allah, praying that Allah grant all muslims the ability to make the most of this sacred month and reward them abundantly.

The Olota of Ota, HRH, Oba (Prof). Abdulkabir Obalanlege, in his remark, said God has created us to be beneficial to one another, hence the need to be more united and be our brother’s keeper not only at this ramadan period but at all times.
