The Ketu Advance Movement (KAM), a socio-political group of concerned stakeholders from Ketu Constituency, has debunked the recent endorsement of Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka by the Ketu Intelligentsia Forum (KIF), describing it as “misleading and not reflective of grassroots realities.”
In a statement issued on Thursday and made available to journalists by the group Cordinator, Taiwo Omolaja, popularly known as (Afo Ketu) stated that the position of KIF does not represent the collective will of the people of Ogun West.
The group stated that it was regrettable that individuals setting the agenda under KIF are largely unknown within Ketu Constituency, stressing that many of them lack the political base and grassroots acceptance required to win even in their respective wards, let alone at the local government level, thereby questioning their credibility to speak for the people.
“While we respect the intellectual standing of KIF, we reject their position in its entirety. Leadership must be evaluated based on visible impact, accessibility, and service delivery, not theoretical projections,” the group said.
KAM, however, expressed deep appreciation to Bola Ahmed Tinubu for giving Ogun West a leader like Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, whose contributions, according to the group, have transformed lives across the district.
The group noted that Senator Adeola’s interventions span critical sectors such as education, empowerment, infrastructure, and healthcare, adding that his performance has earned him the trust and support of the people.
The group also listed some projects facilitated by Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola in Ketu Constituency, which include:
Construction of the Igan Alade Police Post to strengthen community security
Development of Ijoun Market building to boost local commerce
Construction of a 12-classroom block at Ketu College
Upgrading of Asa Hospital to improve healthcare delivery
Construction of a six-classroom block at Agbon
Road construction covering key areas in Ohunbe Ward
Development of Oja Odan Market building to enhance trading activities
Construction of Oja Odan Town Hall for community engagements
Rehabilitation of Ebute Township Road
Facilitation of the Ilara–Ilashe Road project, cutting across four local governments, with Ketu Constituency benefiting a significant portion
Construction of Community High School, Ijoun
Construction of 2km Tobolo Road, among other projects.
According to KAM, these projects are clear evidence of purposeful and people-oriented representation.
The group also explained that Senator Adeola’s footprint in Ketu and across Ogun West is undeniable. His interventions are not abstract but physical, impactful, and directly beneficial to the people.
These include facilitation of numerous school buildings, renovation projects, and provision of educational materials across Ketu Constituency and Ogun West; scholarship and bursary schemes benefiting hundreds of indigent students; massive youth and women empowerment programmes, including skills acquisition, grants, and job creation initiatives; construction and rehabilitation of key road networks; establishment and upgrading of healthcare centres with medical outreach programmes; provision of transformers, solar lights, and other rural electrification projects; as well as regular constituency engagement and direct intervention programmes aimed at improving living standards.”
The group also addressed the political history of the region, noting that Ketu Constituency has consistently supported the governorship ambition of Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka over the years.
“We wish to state for the record that Ketu Constituency has, over time, shown unwavering support for Gboyega Nasir Isiaka’s governorship aspiration. However, such support has not always yielded the desired outcome.
Democracy allows for choices, and there is absolutely nothing wrong in supporting another qualified son of Ogun West.
The group maintained that Senator Adeola represents a credible alternative with a proven track record of performance and grassroots connection.
“We believe that Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) has demonstrated the competence, capacity, and compassion required to lead Ogun State. His elevation to the position of Governor will consolidate the gains already recorded in Ogun West and extend them across the State,” the statement concluded.
KAM, therefore, called on stakeholders, political leaders, and residents of Ogun State to rally behind Senator Adeola’s governorship ambition in 2027, describing it as a “collective step toward sustained development and inclusive governance.
