…Presents Three Key Requests to Government

The leadership of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Ogun State Branch, today Friday 13th February paid a congratulatory visit to the newly appointed Accountant General of Ogun State, Mr Taiwo Olalekan Peter, FCA pledging collaboration while pressing for key welfare and financial reforms affecting judiciary workers.
The delegation, led by Comrade (Lion) Ajiboye Olanrewaju Tunji, described the appointment of the Accountant General as well-deserved, citing his track record of dedication and commitment to public service.
During the meeting held on February 13, 2026, the union expressed optimism that under his stewardship, the state’s finances would be managed with transparency, accountability, and fairness.
The union also underscored the constitutional provision for financial autonomy of the judiciary, stressing the need for sustained cooperation between the office of the Accountant General and judicial institutions to strengthen the independence and efficiency of the justice sector in Ogun State.
While congratulating the new fiscal chief, JUSUN tabled three major requests for urgent consideration. These include the facilitation of payment of new salaries for promoted judiciary staff who have yet to receive their promotion benefits since January 2025; the creation of a JUSUN Soft Loan Scheme on the payroll system to support loan recovery and boost the union’s welfare account; and the review of CONJUSS allowances in line with previous agreements reached with the Ogun State Government.
Responding, the Accountant General appreciated the visit and goodwill shown by the union leadership. He assured the delegation that their requests would be forwarded to the appropriate authorities for necessary action before reaching his office for implementation.
The meeting ended on a note of mutual understanding, with both parties expressing readiness to work together in advancing the welfare of judiciary workers and strengthening fiscal discipline in the state.
