Rector The Gateway (ICT) Polytechnic Saapade , Dr Sanni Kehinde Oseni, has urged students of the institution to maximise their time in the Polytechnic by acquiring relevant skills, embracing innovation and upholding discipline.
Oseni gave the charge in his message to students to mark the 2026 International Youth Day, describing the youth population as the future of the institution and the nation.
The Rector, who felicitated with the students on the occasion, said their energy, creativity, talents, ideas and determination remained powerful tools for shaping a better society.
According to him, students should take full advantage of their academic environment by remaining committed to their studies while developing practical skills and competencies beyond the classroom.
He urged them not to be afraid to dream or work towards achieving their aspirations, stressing that their character, competence and creativity should distinguish them wherever they find themselves.
Oseni reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to providing an enabling environment for students to learn, innovate, acquire practical skills, discover their potential and prepare confidently for the future.
He further encouraged the students to believe in themselves, remain focused and make responsible choices while taking advantage of opportunities available to them.
“As we celebrate you today, I encourage you to believe in yourselves, stay focused, make responsible choices, and make the most of every opportunity available to you,” the Rector said.
He wished all students of The Gateway (ICT) Polytechnic, Saapade, a happy International Youth Day celebration.
