The Representatives of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, have held a security meeting with the Executive chairman Ijebu North local government, Hon. Bolaji Odusanya at the local government secretariat, Ijebu Igbo to seek Collaboration towards curbing Insecurity ravaging the students communities within the area.
The Students body delegation, led by the Director of Polytechnic Affairs, Comrade Megbowon Olusola (Carter Cruise), canvassed the chairman’s intervention to resolve the security challenges confronting the two state owned institutions situated within the Local Government.
On his part, Comrade Ogidan Oladimeji Stephen known as Potential who is the Director of Contact and Documentation, NANS Southwest (Zone D)
stressed the the need to work with the Local govt to address the situation headlong and bring perpetrators to book.
Another member of the delegation, Comrade Daniel Joseph also lent his voice to the discussion as he maintained that “In the face of such adversities, unity and collaboration becomes paramount. We must set aside our differences to embrace dialogue and work together to find a lasting solution to the insecurity challenges being experienced in the students communities”
In his response, the executive Chairman, Hon. Bolaji reiterated that It is the collective responsibility of everyone to confront insecurity challenges and restore peace and security to the students communities as well as the entire local government area.
The local government helmsman therefore assured that the local government under his watch will do all within his capacity to maintain peace through collaboration with stakeholders including security agencies, as he enjoined the students to also cooperate and maintain peaceful coexistence.
