No fewer than 8,105 canvassers were on Tuesday inaugurated in Ogun West under the platform of the Door-To-Door Team 4 PBAT + DA + YAYI, as a roadshow and large-scale medical outreach formed part of activities marking the mobilisation rally in Ota.

The event, which attracted professionals, artisans, traders, market men and women, as well as other stakeholders from across Ogun West and other parts of the state, combined grassroots political engagement with community-focused initiatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A major highlight of the rally was a free medical outreach that saw hundreds of residents benefit from consultations, medications and health advice for various ailments. Organisers said the outreach was designed to complement the group’s mobilisation drive with tangible social support for residents.

The atmosphere later turned festive as supporters embarked on a colourful roadshow across major routes in Ota, drawing cheers from residents and amplifying the campaign message of continuity and grassroots participation.

During the event, the group formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office, citing ongoing economic and fiscal reforms aimed at repositioning the country.

The canvassers also declared support for Governor Dapo Abiodun for the Ogun East Senatorial seat and endorsed Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as the preferred candidate for the Ogun State governorship, describing both leaders as experienced administrators with records of impactful projects.

Speakers at the rally listed projects attributed to the Abiodun administration, including the reconstruction and expansion of major intra-city and inter-city roads, large-scale school renovation and construction projects under the state’s education reform programme, affordable housing schemes and the expansion of primary healthcare centres across the state.

The governor was also credited with strengthening Ogun’s status as an industrial hub through investor-friendly policies, industrial park development, youth empowerment initiatives and agricultural support programmes.

Participants equally highlighted projects facilitated by Senator Adeola in Ogun West and beyond, including strategic road projects to improve connectivity, construction and upgrading of healthcare facilities in rural and urban communities, scholarships and bursaries for tertiary institution students, and the construction of classroom blocks equipped with libraries and solar-powered boreholes.

Other initiatives attributed to the senator include ICT training and skills acquisition programmes for youths, grants and empowerment schemes for traders and small businesses, as well as agricultural inputs and training support for farmers.

In his remarks, the State Coordinator of the group, Niyi Opeibi, described the inauguration as a significant milestone in the team’s statewide mobilisation strategy. He urged the newly inaugurated canvassers to actively engage communities, promote voter participation and sustain grassroots sensitisation efforts in the build-up to the 2027 elections.

Organisers said the rally underscored a blend of civic engagement, community service and political mobilisation aimed at sustaining development in Ogun West, across Ogun State and the country at large.
