Hon. Joseph Folorunsho Adegbesan, the House of Representatives member representing Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, has once again showcased his commitment to the welfare of students and youths in Ogun Waterside Local Government.
Through the Adegbesan Youth Vanguard, Hon. Adegbesan distributed various packed food items as palliatives to alleviate the impact of economic challenges. This initiative, launched on Sunday, June 16th, 2024, at Abigi, will extend across all ten wards of Ogun Waterside Local Government.
During his election campaign, the Adegbesan Youth Vanguard pledged support for youths, empowerment of students, and collaboration with youth organizations. Hon. Adegbesan has now fulfilled this promise by actively engaging with the Adegbesan Youth Vanguard, the National Youth Council of Nigeria, students, and other youth groups.
This effort has garnered widespread praise from community leaders and organizations. Hon. Toye Odunoiki, former Abigi Community Bank Manager, lauded the initiative as “unique and commendable.” Alhaji Sikirulahi Folorunsho (Alhaji Agba) also praised Hon. Adegbesan’s generous gesture and encouraged youths to uphold values of responsibility, transparency, and unity.
The food packs distributed contain essential items such as rice, beans, spaghetti, sugar, milk, and custard. Furthermore, cash transfers were provided to mitigate economic hardships, especially during the Eid-El-Kabir celebration.
This initiative underscores the lawmaker’s dedication to improving the lives of Ogun Waterside’s youths and students, aiming to build a brighter future for all.
