
Prominent Ogun businessman and community leader, Chief Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun, popularly known as IBD Dende, has congratulated Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on his 66th birthday and seventh year in office, describing the period as one that has brought expected renewed hope of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu mantra to the residents of Ogun State, Ogun West in particular.
In an e-signed heartfelt goodwill message released on Friday, Chief Egungbohun, applauded the governor particularly for utilizing his 66th year on earth, 7th year as Governor to approve Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Senator Yayi, as the preferred consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the next gubernatorial election in Ogun State.
According to the IBD IMPEX Chairman, the governor’s decision has restored hope across Ogun West and the Yewa axis after decades of political expectations, noting that Governor Abiodun’s support for Yayi’s emergence would remain one of the defining moments of his administration.
“Fifty years of political waiting ended because one courageous leader chose to listen to the voice of the people. Infact, history will remember Prince Dapo Abiodun as the incumbent Governor—though with the support of his predecessors—who gave Ogun West renewed hope and opened new economic doors for Ogun State.
“Your 66th birthday and seventh year in office are worth celebrating for Yayi’s emergence as governor-to-be,” Egungbohun extolled.
Chief Egungbohun also commended the governor for major infrastructure projects executed under his administration, especially the Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport, which he described as a transformative project capable of positioning Ogun State as a leading business and investment destination in Nigeria.
He further praised the administration for road construction, educational development, industrial growth, and improved investment opportunities across the state.
As Governor Abiodun marks his 66th birthday and 7th year in office, the Oluomo of Yewaland prayed for continued wisdom, strength, sound health, and a peaceful completion of his administration.
