…commends Ogun NUJ on Christmas Carol
Former Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Ogun state and the Chairman Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the 2024 Gateway Games, Hon Bukola Olapade has charged journalists to continue using their pen to expose and correct the ills in the society as the role of Journalists in nation building can not be over emphasized .
Hon. Olopade disclosed this at the 2023 Christmas Carol of five lessons of the council held at the Secretariat of the Union, Iwe Iroyin, Oke Ilewo Abeokuta.
He also tasked journalists and the Ogun citizens to be part of the coming 2024 Sports festival, which, according to him, is going to be a world class while appreciating Gov. Abiodun for taking the bid to host .
Olopade gifted the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ogun State Council chairman, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju a brand new Kia Rio saloon car.
The car gift is coming just a few days to the 365 days in office and commissioning of projects of the Comrade Wale Olanrewaju led administration.
Meanwhile, Prophet Soji Oyesanya who gave the Christmas message commended Ogun State Journalists for always been above board as they have continued to be a shining light of the profession as Abeokuta the state capital still remains the cradle of journalism
Dr. Abimbola Babalola, the Southwest Coordinator, Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) read the first lesson, the General Manager of the Ogun State Television (OGTV), Mr Tunde Kassim who was represented by the Assistant General Manager News and Current Affairs, Biodun Alabi read the second lesson
Gbenga Osindele, Assistant General Manager of the Ogun State broadcasting Corporation (OGBC), who represented his General Manager Toyin Sogbesan read the third lesson, while the Former chairman, Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Ogun State, Dr Abayomi Olajide read the fourth lesson, just as the fifth and the last lesson was read by the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ogun State Council Wale Olanrewaju
