
Ipokia Local Government witnessed a massive political awakening as youths across the area came out in large numbers to endorse President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) for Governor, and Hon. Bisi Oyedele Citiside for the Ogun State House of Assembly.
The youth groups, Ipokia Elite Movement in conjunction with the Ipokia Youth Movement, mobilized heavily and declared their unwavering support for the trio, citing their track records of leadership and development.
In their separate speeches, the Chairman of the Elite Movement, Engr. Olamide Femi Fagbohun, CEO of Olafems Oil and Gas Limited, eulogized the virtues of the candidates. He said,
“These leaders are the best that has ever happened to Ipokia Local Government. Their commitment to development, empowerment, and the welfare of the people is unmatched. We stand firmly behind them.”
Also speaking, the Leader of the Ipokia Youth Movement, Alhaji Ganiu Bakai, appealed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to consider Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) for the governorship ticket, while reaffirming support for Hon. Bisi Oyedele Citiside. He stated,
“Senator Adeola has consistently shown that he listens to the people and delivers results. We fully support him for Governor and will continue to stand behind Hon. Bisi Oyedele Citiside for his exceptional representation in the State Assembly.”
Adding his voice, the Chairman of the Ipokia Local Government Youth Forum, Deji Imoleayo Mawutin, described the endorsement as non-partisan, driven by the visible developmental strides of Senator Adeola. He said,
“Our support is based on the achievements we can see. Hon. Bisi Oyedele Citiside has set a new standard in representation by creating about 30 jobs in his first term and delivering initiatives that directly impact our local government.”
Mr. Matthew Thomas, Coordinator of the City Boy Movement in Ipokia Local Government and CEO of Setmat Oil and Gas Limited, also spoke in support of the President. He remarked,
“We commend President Tinubu for responding to the cries of the people, particularly in improving fuel availability here in Ipokia Local Government. The City Boy Movement remains fully committed to supporting his leadership.”
The gathering had in attendance former Local Government Chairmen, Hon. Josu Amos and Hon. Wale Aderohunmu; Hon. Kabir Abodurin, Senior Legislative Aide to the Deputy Senate President; Hon. Joel Bankole; and other APC leaders. Business mogul, Alhaji Akeem “Bournvita”; Mr. Idowu Atinshola; and Mr. Kayode Sangobiyi Kay trophy were also present, while other youth leaders, including Mr. Gbenga Ojo, Comrade Tunde “Ogun Na Money,” and Comrade Rasheed Idris, were fully on ground.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Segun Ojolowo, who represented the Distinguished Senator, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support, saying,
“We sincerely appreciate your support and enthusiasm. Senator Adeola and all our leaders are committed to serving the people, and your trust will not be taken for granted.”
