The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth League has announced plans to stage a loyalty walk on February 11, 2026, in Ijebu-Ode in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
The walk, which is expected to draw over 5,000 youths from the state’s 20 local government areas, is aimed at promoting youth inclusion, civic participation and sustained engagement in governance.
According to the organisers, the event will commence at the Dipo Dina Stadium, move through major routes in Ijebu-Ode, and culminate at the Awujale Palace Pavilion, where a rally and keynote addresses will be held.
The Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade, is among the prominent speakers slated for the event. He is expected to deliver a lecture titled “The Imperative of Continuity: Consolidating the Renewed Hope Agenda for Sustainable National Development until 2031.”
Also billed to speak is the Ogun State Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Hon. Dapo Okubadejo, who will address participants on “From Policy to Prosperity: Youth-Centred Economic Pathways under the Dapo Abiodun Administration.”
The APC Youth League said the walk is in alignment with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Abiodun’s development vision, with emphasis on youth empowerment, economic reforms and infrastructure development.
The group recalled that similar loyalty walks organised in 2020 and 2022 recorded massive youth turnout and peaceful mobilisation, noting that the initiative was later replicated at the national level during the 2025 Democracy Day celebration in Abuja.
Governor Abiodun, the group added, has remained committed to reshaping the image and prospects of Ogun youths through strategic development and empowerment initiatives, particularly in information technology.
It noted that the administration has trained over 21,000 youths in vocational and digital skills, strengthened community policing, and promoted self-reliance among young people across the state.
Reaffirming its commitment to peaceful and responsible mobilisation, the APC Youth League called on youths in Ogun State to actively participate in the walk as a demonstration of support for reform, continuity and responsible citizenship.
