The Chartered Institute of Forensic and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN) has inducted Dr. Adewale Oyinlola as a certified member of the institute with the professional designation of Chartered Certified Forensic Accountant/Auditor (CCrFA)
Inducted along with Dr. Oyinlola are Dr Andrew Ogochukwu Onwudili, the Acting Auditor-General of the Federation (AuGF), Dr Fawale Busayo Ayinla, Deputy Director of Audit, Mr. David Egan, Senior Managing Director & Head, Human Resources at Mesirow Finance.
The induction ceremony, and the first Anuual General Meeting (AGM) of CIFCFIN, took place on Friday 31st March, 2023 at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Academy in Abuja and had many dignitaries within and outside the forensic accounting and fraud profession in attendance including the former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice PRINCE ADETOKUNBO KAYODE, President and Chairman Governing Council, Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators Of Nigeria (CIFCFIN), Dr. ILLIYASU GASHINBAKI, 1st Vice President Dr. JOHNSON OLUATA, 2nd Vice President Professor SULEIMAN ARUWA, the Registrar Ms. Tola Akinosi and other Council Members.

The bill establishing the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN) was amongst 16 Constitutional Alteration Bills signed into law on December 22, 2022, by President Mohammed Buhari, GCFR, as the foremost and the only Forensic and Fraud Investigation Institute in Nigeria and Africa.
Speaking at the occasion, the former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Adetotunbo Kayode, noted that the institute would help reduce financial fraud and all types of fraud in the various sectors of the economy. He stressed further that, Nigeria has taken a bold step towards eradicating corruption and financial crimes in the country.
The 1st AGM of the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN) approved four critical regulations:
Governance Regulation, Membership Regulation, the Regulation for the College of Forensics and Fraud Investigation, and the Bye-Laws for the Operations of its partners.
Dr Adewale Oyinlola (PhD, CFE, CFFI), a professional Accountant, Energy Economist, Forensic and Fraud Examiner, Financial/Compliance Auditor and Higher Education Academia, began his professional career immediately after his successful completion of his NYSC, in the private sector, from an Account Officer and rose steadily to a Senior Manager in Private Sector such as, Agro Allied, Banks, Mortgage, Pension, Oil & Gas sectors (from June 2001 to December 2015). He had fifteen year working experience in the private sector before he joined the Office of the Auditor-General for the Federation, Abuja in 2017, where he pioneered the implementation of the $1.75B World Bank/FGN Independent Verification of SFTAS Programme for Result (PforR) in the 36 States of Nigeria. He teaches in Leadership, Management and Entrepreneurship studies at the De Montfort University, United Kingdom.
Adewale Oyinlola runs a not-for-profit organization – Oyinlola Educational Foundation – and he is the Executive Director of Good Governance Initiatives – a platform for the promotion of good governance structures in Nigeria politics.
He had attended many courses and conferences in Nigeria and abroad in the areas of sales, marketing, finance, management, energy, climate change, leadership and governance, etc. He is currently a scholar at the prestigious School of Policy, Politics and Governance, a Fix Politics Initiatives.
Education.
Adewale Oyinlola began his primary education at the Emmanuel Anglican Primary School, Ijebu Ode, and concluded (FSLC) it at the Mrs. F. Kuti Primary School, Abeokuta. He went to Ijebu Ode Grammar School and obtained his Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) from the African Church Grammar School, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
He further bagged a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy, First-Class Honors bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Accounting (forensic option), Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Energy Studies with specialization in Energy Economics and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Energy Finance and Economics with interest in Renewable Energy economics and finance from De Montfort University, United Kingdom.
Adewale Oyinlola is a member of the British Academy of Management (BAM), International Association of Energy Economics (IAEE), Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Certified Institute of Forensic and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN), Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN).
Adewale is a member of Abeokuta Sports Club, Ijebu Ode Club, Egbe Obayori Okunrin (Asiwaju) Akile-Ijebu and host of others.
