Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola has expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ogun State

Governor Dapo Abiodun, elder statesman Olusegun Osoba, and other leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his adoption as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.
Adeola, who represents Ogun West and chairs the Senate Committee on Appropriations, was endorsed at a strategic APC caucus meeting held at the party secretariat in Abeokuta. The announcement, made by Governor Abiodun, received unanimous backing from party stakeholders and fellow aspirants in attendance.
In a statement issued shortly after the development, the senator described his emergence as a reflection of unity, fairness, and collective resolve within the APC. He particularly acknowledged President Tinubu and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for their commitment to equity and inclusiveness, noting that the decision marks a significant shift toward Ogun West Senatorial District, which has yet to produce a governor since the state’s creation.
“I must specially thank President Tinubu for his mentorship, guidance and unwavering support throughout my political journey,” Adeola said, adding that both the President and the First Lady have consistently backed his aspirations over the years.
The lawmaker also commended Governor Abiodun and the First Lady, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, for their confidence in his leadership, recalling the governor’s support since his political transition to Ogun West.
Adeola further paid tribute to Chief Osoba for his guidance and counsel, describing the former governor’s role as pivotal at critical moments in his political journey.
He also appreciated former governors, Senator Gbenga Daniel and Senator Ibikunle Amosun, for their contributions in fostering consensus within the party.
The senator lauded the Ogun State APC executive led by Chief Yemisi Sanusi for ensuring a peaceful and inclusive process, while commending co-aspirants, including Hon. Gboyega Nosiru Isiaka and Hon. Abiodun Akinlade, for prioritising party unity over personal ambition.
“There are no winners or losers. The APC family has emerged stronger and more united,” he stated, while also acknowledging goodwill messages from notable stakeholders such as Senator Iyabo Obasanjo, Mr Tunde Lemo, and Hon. Kayode Jellili Amusan.
Calling for unity among party faithful, Adeola urged support groups, stakeholders, and residents of Ogun State to rally behind the APC in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
He emphasised the need for strengthened grassroots mobilisation and collective responsibility to secure electoral victories.
Looking ahead, the senator assured that his administration, if elected, would prioritise people-centred development, economic expansion, and improved social welfare, building on existing achievements while pursuing innovative policies for sustainable growth.
“In unity lies our strength and in our shared purpose, we will secure a brighter future for Ogun State. Together, we will rise, together we will build and together we will win,” he affirmed.
The statement was signed by High Chief Kayode Odunaro, Media Adviser to Senator Adeola.
