Residents of Alaafia Isewo Community Development Association (CDA) in Obada Oko, under Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, have expressed appreciation to the Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government,n honourable Sikiru Adesina, for his timely intervention in resolving an internal dispute that threatened the unity of the association.
The crisis had stemmed from agitation by a faction within the CDA seeking to split the body into two — a move that did not go down well with the majority of residents of Alaafia Isewo, which operates under the Ibukun Oluwa Community Development Council (CDC).
In a bid to restore peace, Honourable Adesina convened a meeting at his office, on Wednesday 25th February,2026 attended by his Vice Chairman, other members of the local government executive, security agencies, and representatives of the feuding groups.
During the meeting, both sides were given the opportunity to table their grievances.
After extensive deliberations and the application of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and arbitration principles by the council chairman, the parties resolved to maintain the status quo, affirming that Alaafia Isewo CDA would remain a single, united body.
Honourable Adesina urged residents to embrace peace, unity and collective progress, stressing that community development can only thrive in an atmosphere of harmony.
Alaafia Isewo CDA remains under the Ibukun Oluwa CDC, the umbrella body coordinating community development activities in the area.
Residents say the peaceful resolution has restored confidence and reinforced the spirit of togetherness within the community.
Speaking after the meeting, Chairman of Alaafia Isewo CDA, Adenuga Wasiu, who was part of the delegation, appreciated the local government chairman for his impartial and fatherly role in resolving the matter. He assured residents of renewed commitment to unity and peaceful coexistence.
