Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has donated and installed another 500KVA transformer in Ago-Iwoye, Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State, in a fresh intervention aimed at restoring electricity and supporting economic activities in the community.

The transformer was installed on Tuesday, September 9, 2026, at the Late Senator Jubril Martins Kuye Area, Isamuro Quarters, Ward 09, Ago-Iwoye, following months of power outage that had affected residents and businesses in the area.

Adeola, who represents Ogun West Senatorial District and chairs the Senate Committee on Appropriations, is also the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State.

The latest intervention comes only a few months after the senator donated another 500KVA transformer to the Koroko Oke-Odo Konigba Community, Igan Quarter, Ago-Iwoye, where residents had reportedly been without electricity for nearly three years.

The installation of the latest transformer was facilitated by Senator Adeola’s political associate, Prince Fatai Adesegun, popularly known as Authentic, following an appeal by Hon. Fausat Paul, Councillor representing Ward 10 in Ijebu North Local Government.

The commissioning and installation exercise attracted APC leaders, elected representatives, political stakeholders and community leaders, including Hon. Prince Segun Kaka (PSK), APC candidate for Ijebu North II (Ifelodun) State Constituency; Hon. Odusanya Abolaji, Executive Chairman, Ijebu North Local Government; Prince Akin Onalaja, Convener, Yayi Mandate Group; Alhaji Akeem Arikewuyo, Coordinator, Yayi Caucus 7202, Ijebu North II; Alhaji Sesan Araba, APC Chairman, Ward 09; Prince Adesegun Motilade; Prince Adeoye Wasiu; as well as local government officials, party leaders and community stakeholders.
Speaking during the exercise, community leaders commended Senator Adeola for what they described as a responsive intervention, saying the restoration of electricity would provide significant relief to residents and help revive economic activities in the area.

They noted that reliable power supply would particularly benefit small-scale businesses, artisans and other residents whose livelihoods depend on electricity, while also improving the overall quality of life within the community.

The latest intervention, according to the senator’s media office, underscores Adeola’s commitment to infrastructure development and his focus on addressing critical needs through targeted interventions across Ogun State.
