… Registered four hitherto unauthorized factories under excise Control

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ogun II Area command, has exceeded the target set for it with the generation of Four billion, three hundred and thirty five thousand, three hundred and twenty three naira, and fifty three kobo(4,000,335,323.53kb) as revenue generation for the month of January,2025.
The Customs area Controller, Ogun II command, Comptroller, Olusola Bisi Alade stated this at a media briefing on the command’s scorecard for the last quarter of 2024 fiscal year.
Compt. Olusola explained that revenue generated for the January 2025 surpassed the one recorded in January 2024 which was two billion, one hundred and thirty five million, two hundred and seventy six naira, eighty six kobo(2,135,276,673.86kb) with margin of one billion, eight hundred and sixty five million, fifty eight thousand, six hundred forty nine naira, sixty seven kobo(1,865,058,649.67) which represents, 104 percent increments.
The Ogun II area command’s helmsman attributed several measures that are responsible to the meeting and exceeding the set target which included, motivation from the management of Nigeria customs Service that has continued to boost the moral of officers while Commending the diligence, professionalism and dedication to duties among his officers.
The Comptroller also reeled out other achievements to include, the discovery of four unauthorized factories operating without proper licence and permit, these factories which he noted have been brought under excise control included Evita Moore, Lekan Industries, Scarlet Eagle ltd and IBK Ventures.

Part of the achievements according to the Comptroller was also the improved activities at the Ogun Guangdong Ceplast Flourmill free trade zone which contributed immensely to the January 2025 revenue collections.
He also appreciated the Controller General of Customs in the implementation of policies and agenda of the federal government and motivating the officers and men of the command in monitoring industrial productions and collection of exercise duties.
Prospecting deeply into 2025, the Comptroller maintained that as inspection of the Ogun agro cargo airport was carried out last year, and the inland dry port will definitely expand the scope of the command and have more areas to cover. The free trade zone are also expanding and this will automatically expand the operations of the command and thereby improve the revenue generation.

According to him. ” The core mandate of the Command remains the generation of revenue for the federal government, facilitation of legitimate trade and to protect National Security.
“Revenue Generation. It may interest you to know that the command generated, The sum of Four billion, three hundred and thirty-five thousand, three hundred, twenty-three naira and fifty-three kobo 4,000,335,323.53kb as revenue for the month of January, 2025. This can be compared to two billion, one hundred and thirty-five million, two hundred and seventy-six thousand, six hundred- and seventy-six-naira, eighty-six kobo N2,135,276.673.86kb generated in the corresponding period of last year, 2024. There is a differential of N1,865,058,649.67 which is a significant increase of 104%. This is to say that the command generates the total sum of Thirty-two billion four hundred and sixty-one million, four hundred and fifty-eight thousand, eight hundred and fifty-eight naira and fifty-nine kobo (N 32,461,458,858.59kb) Last year.
” This attainment is evidence of the diligence, professionalism and dedication to duty of our officers who worked tirelessly to ensure that we met and exceeded the revenue target given to our command. It is also evocative of our steadfast commitment to the growth of our national economy.
“In addition, command activities in the free trade zones (Ogun Guangdong, Ceplast and Flourmill free Trade Zone) and the banded terminal have improved. This brought great success, which is evident as our January revenue colection leaped to four billion three hundred and thirty-five thousand, three hundirection twenty-three-naira, fifty-three kobo N4,000,335,323.53kb. And recently the Command discovered about Four (4) unauthorized factories operating without proper license and permits but the Command took necessary action and brought them under excise control, and they are on different stages of registration. These are:
1. Evita Moore
2. Lekan Industries
3.Scarlet Eagle Ltd
4. IBK Ventures.
“This achievement is also evidence of synergy, focus and teamwork in the command leadership. It is important to acknowledge the critical roles played by the command’s Monitoring Unit. Customs Intelligent Unit and the Customs Police Unit in making this achievement possible.
“We will continue to dialogue, engage and educate the stakeholders and the local business communities on our corporate goals; revenue generation and trade facilitation via excise and Free trade zone operations. We shall maintain success through consistent synergy with other sister agencies while discharging our statutory responsibilities of enforcing compliance with government fiscal policies.
” At this period, its essential to recognize the effort of the Comptroller General of Customs in the implementation of policies and agenda of the federal Government and in motivating the Officers and Men of the command in monitoring industrial productions and collecting Excise Duties. Our CGC also brought the generation of Customs Duties through the Free Trade Zones into a sharp focus. Our increase in revenue achievements have remarkably received a boost from an ever active oversight, motivation and participation by the Excise and Free Trade Zone Headquarters in Abuja.

b. Aggressive stakeholders’ engagement by the Customs Area Controller (CAC). including visits and parleys with all security/government agencies in Ogun State.

Comptroller Alade however appreciated various critical stakeholders for their continuous collaborative efforts and synergy with the service while carrying out its statutory mandate in the state.
